Practising Self-Care: 7 Ideas For You

1. Take A Walk

Detoxing the digital and simply taking a stroll in your neighborhood, a nearby park, jogging track can help a lot more than it looks like. Walking along nature helps you flush out all the thoughts that pressured you, gives you a boost, makes fresh air feels different, and all these little things add up to make a big difference.

Having a Me-Time is very important. It gives clarity to ensure things and improves the balance within yourself. It opens the gateway to introspect, think about the things you accomplished in a day and help you plan better.

Nowadays, we are so driven towards a dream that we forget to have a moment with ourselves. With the body that has been doing so much for us from the very beginning. Walking along with some lush green, fresh air, and chirping birds sounds just the right detox to me!

2. Start Journaling/Maintain A Gratitude Journal

Journaling is one of the healthiest habits one can own. When we start writing down the things we did in a day, things we accomplished or lost, and things we want to achieve for the next day, we can see how the structure of our daily routine is.

Journaling gives you insights into your own way of working. If you don't have one, get a gratitude journal. Start noting down things you are grateful for. I promise you once you start acknowledging the occurring you're grateful for, you will notice a revolutionary change in yourself. However, you don't need to start your gratitude journey with a big or heft journal. You can begin with one page of gratitude! Click here to see a one-page gratitude checklist!

When we express gratitude for a certain something, we start noticing the details of the general life around us. We start complementing life. Now that is something one should definitely do because it makes you a happier and healthier person, inside out.

3. Craft A Routine & Follow It

It is always stressed a lot how important it is to have a routine. Let me tell you, it is true to the core. Living without a routine is like driving without knowing the destination. It lacks purpose, clarity, and vision.

Start by maintaining 2 things daily. For example, let's say you start crafting a routine by simply writing down 3 kind things you did today. Do this activity continuously for 3 days. After the 3rd day, add another activity that follows it.

This way, slowly and steadily, you will build an entire routine. Once your routine is crafted, maintain it. Following the routine might be a difficult stage for quite a lot of people. Many distractions try to draw us away from the routine we worked so hard to build.

If you need, you can use planners and trackers to help you with the same.

This is where the commitment game starts to play. Ask yourself, "Why did I start the self-care journey?" and stay focused on the reason your subconscious gives you. It may be a little overwhelming initially, but sweet fruits lie ahead. So, if not now, then when?

4. Start A Side Hustle

Side hustles are an amazing way to keep busy and have fun simultaneously. There are so many hustles that make a passive income potential. You might have high-demand skills; plus, having a side hustle helps you get tons and tons of knowledge about a particular industry.

How are self-care and side hustling related? Indeed it is. Self-care is when you grow and expand healthily in multiple ways. A side hustle opens the gates for growth and adventures and embeds personality traits like open-mindedness, flexibility, politeness, understanding, and so much more.

7. Join A Dance Club

Self-care means taking time out from your busy schedule to relax, unwind and get healthier. This is exactly what joining a dance club does for you. Dance clubs help make room for people's time to live healthy, happy, and worthwhile social lives.

You can be assured of several benefits if you enjoy dancing and joining a dance club. Step by step, you can care for yourself better. When you're with a supportive community, it's easier to take in what your body needs, and deeper self-care becomes a habit.

A dance club helps you stay fit, and music can relieve stress. You can take it to the next level by creating a private event of yours. Dancing is a great stress buster and self-care tool. It releases endorphins into your system, which can help prevent depression and anxiety and even treat insomnia.

Dance clubs are fantastic spaces to practice self-care. You can dance all night, even if you don't have the best rhythm or stamina. That's okay — because the steps aren't based on the beat of the music but on step repetition, which makes it much easier to learn.

Self-care is often overlooked for work and other important tasks, but it's just as important as all of those and should be treated as such. I suggest trying to practice self-care, starting first with those little things. Maybe take a few moments to breathe and look around whenever you feel anxious or stressed over something. Maybe try smiling for no reason whatsoever. Maybe consider that everything will be fine and leave it at that. It'll get easier with time, I promise.

Self-care is important because it keeps you healthy, productive, and happy. Practicing self-care makes you the best version of yourself.  As we practice self-care more often and continue growing closer to better versions of ourselves, we are capable of helping those around us in ways we could have never imagined before.
